Celebrating the Latin infused side of the Blue Note catalog, CuBop's origin stems from the fusion of the Afro-Cuban and BeBop sounds of stylistic pioneers Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, and Horace Silver.
Since the group's inception in 2015, the CuBop catalog has expanded to cover a wide array of styles in the jazz idiom from Latin-Jazz to Hard Bop and to more progressive avant-garde styles all rooted within the classic quintet and sextet format.
