Shoreline restoration volunteer opportunity
By City of Winter Park - Mia Brady

Join the City of Winter Park's Natural Resources and Sustainability Department on December 16 for a shoreline restoration project at Lake Wilbar!

We will be pulling invasive plant species, like alligator weed and torpedo grass, and planting native species, such as pickerelweed, duck potato, and canna. There will also be an opportunity to clean up litter in the surrounding watershed.

Please come prepared to get muddy and wet. Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to be present in the beginning to sign a minor waiver. Anyone under 12 years old who wants to participants will need a parent or guardian present for the remainder of the event.

We will provide the necessary materials, snacks and a water cooler, so please bring a reusable water bottle.

Access Shoreline Restoration registration.
